INSPIRED BY DONALD TRUMP, TED CRUZ STARTS HIS OWN I HATE WOMEN CAMPAGN

INSPIRED BY DONALD TRUMP, TED CRUZ LAUNCES HIS OWN HATE WOMEN CAMPAGN The same young activist who schooled Phyllis Schlafly (in a story that went viral), Sarah Palin, and North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory is now edifying Sen. Ted Cruz. Kimrey’s open letter to Cruz that posted this week on Liberals Unite, is strong, scathing, and fabulous. North Carolina resident Madison Kimrey has been an overall powerful voice on many liberal and social issues including voting rights, women's rights, and LGBT rights. The 14-year-old, now a staff writer for Liberals Unite, seems far beyond her years in political commentary. Also a Daily Kos community member, Kimrey has been asked to speak at numerous events throughout the country. She has appeared on MSNBC, was personally introduced by feminist author Kimberley Johnson to speak in Washington DC for We Are Woman, has met with President Obama, and was personally invited by Rev. Dr. William Barber III to speak at Moral Monday protests. Yes, she is quite remarkable. Here are excerpts from Madison Kimrey’s sarcastic open “Dear Ted” letter to Ted Cruz. “My Dearest Ted, Your latest attempts to woo women voters have made it impossible for me to hold my feelings for you in any longer. Every time you speak, every time I see your face on television, I get a feeling in the pit of my stomach. When, in Wisconsin, you declared that, “Strong women in the United States can accomplish anything,” all the memories I have of you came flooding back, and I realized I just can’t fight it anymore. I have to tell you how I feel.” A letter to Cruz would not be complete without mentioning his part in the 2013 government shutdown costing American taxpayers $24 billion. “Not just any man would be willing to go as far as to shut down the federal government over my access to affordable birth control.” Kimrey goes on to mention Cruz’s part in the Texas war against women’s reproductive rights. “The past relationships you’ve had with women show just how good you are at sweeping us under the runoff off our feet. Between 100,000 and 240,000 of women in Texas have attempted to end a pregnancy on their own because they don’t have access to affordable clinics. I guess a little distance in a relationship doesn’t bother you where women are concerned. But I also know you’re capable of having closer relationships like the one you have with Gordon Klingenschmitt. Hanging with your squad means I’ll be safe from the demonic possession that causes people to catch the gay and have shmershmortions.” No, Madison Kimrey holds nothing back. “While demonic possession is something I should maybe worry more about, the fact that I have a 1 in 5 chance of being raped is something I’m more concerned with. The fact that you would want me to have no choice but to carry the baby of a rapist and give birth to it is quite a demonstration of your warmth and understanding.” As part of her conclusion, Kimrey adds a nice zinger. “You are right about one thing, though. Strong women in the United States can accomplish anything. That includes making sure you never become President of the United States.” You can read Madison Kimrey’s full letter (highly recommended) at Liberals Unite by clicking here. The future looks very bright with remarkable American young people like Madison Kimrey. Cheers to this strong, intelligent, tenacious and compassionate young activist.
