Kidnapped Egyptian director decapitated by Libyan militia

An Egyptian director at Libyan channel Barqa, who was kidnapped by Libyan militias in August 2014, died on Monday, his cousin, journalist Doaa Sultan, wrote on Facebook. The decapitated body of Mohamed Galal Okasha, 31, will arrive in Cairo on Tuesday, Sultan said. Libyan militias are fighting each other in a conflict that started in 2011, with an internationally recognised parliament in Tobruk in the west, and another government in the capital Tripoli. Islamic State has also gained a foothold in Libya, and killed 20 Egyptians in February. Thousands of Egyptians work in Libya, especially people from rural areas. Hundreds of Egyptians have fled Libya since the conflict began. Al-Ahram Gate © Copyright Al-Ahram Publishing House albawaba.com image;Alharam
